Engine oil change
- Regular engine oil changes are crucial for engine performance and longevity. They help reduce friction, wear, and prevent overheating. Recommended every 3,000-5,000 miles or as per your vehicle's manual.
Drain the Old Oil
Vacuuming:
- Place the oil drain pan beneath the oil drain plug. Use the socket wrench to remove the drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Once drained, replace and tighten the drain plug securely.
Replace the Oil Filter
- Position the drain pan under the oil filter. Use the oil filter wrench to remove the old filter. Before installing the new filter, apply a thin layer of new oil to the rubber gasket on the top of the filter. Screw the new filter into place by hand until it's snug, then tighten it an additional three-quarters turn.
Add New Oil
- Locate the oil filler cap on top of the engine and remove it. Place the funnel in the opening and pour in the new oil. After adding the recommended amount, replace the oil filler cap.
Check Oil Level
- Start the engine and let it run for a minute, then turn it off and wait a few minutes. Use the dipstick to check the oil level, ensuring it's within the recommended range.
